Most murder mystery games hand both players the same case file, which means one of you reads it and the other agrees. This one puts you in different rooms of the same house. You see the study; they see the library. You each find things the other physically cannot look at, and the only way through is to describe them out loud until the two halves meet.
It runs about twenty-five minutes across five parts: the body in the locked study, a name cut into a crate lid in hieroglyphs, a ledger that doesn't match the bank, a route the two of you draw together on the floor plan, and then the accusation. The murderer is chosen fresh every time you play, so there's nothing to remember on a second run.

Split up
You start in different rooms of Blackthorn Hall and can walk between them whenever you like — but never into the room the other one is standing in.

Describe what's in front of you
The symbols on the crate are in one room and the key that decodes them is in another. The ledger is in the cellar and the bank book is upstairs. Say what you can see, in full.

Draw the route together
One part gives you a shared floor plan and a pen you both control. One of you has the witness statements; the other watches the route appear.

Name the murderer
At the end you each hold half the evidence — and half is never enough. Two attempts, and no clock at any point.

Is it actually free?

Is the murderer always the same?
No. The case picks one of the five suspects fresh each time and rebuilds every clue to point at them, so replaying it is a genuinely different mystery with the same cast.
Can one person just solve it alone?
No, and that's enforced rather than hoped for. The evidence that rules people out is split across the two of you, and neither half narrows it below three suspects — even if one of you walks into every room in the house.
Is there a time limit?
None. A mystery shouldn't fail on a clock. You get four hints between you and two attempts at naming the killer, and the time you took is recorded at the end.
Do we need to be in the same place?
No. It's built for two people on a call. You'll be describing things to each other constantly, so voice or chat matters more than being in the same room.
