For Discord voice
Keep Discord open. Play in the tab next to it.
You’re already in a Discord voice channel with one friend. The call is fine, but after a while you need something on screen that isn’t just the server list and somebody streaming their desktop.
These are games to play on Discord with 1 friend, but they don’t run inside Discord. One of you makes a room in the browser, sends the four-letter code or link, and you both keep talking in Discord while the game runs beside it.

- 01
Same Page
3 minStart here if you want to check that everything works. You both answer the same question in secret, then reveal at the same time, so the voice call immediately has something to react to. It takes about three minutes and doesn’t need any explanation.
- 02
Doodle & Guess
5 minThis fits a Discord call because the guessing is half typed and half shouted over each other. One of you draws, the other watches the strokes appear live and tries to get there before the ninety seconds are up. The bad drawings are usually the point.
- 03
Red Flag, Green Flag
6 minGood once the call has warmed up. You both judge the same small behaviours as red, beige or green, then compare where you split. It gives you the kind of argument Discord is good for: low stakes, specific, and slightly unreasonable.
- 04
Escape Room
18–22 minPick this when you want a proper co-op thing rather than a chat game. One of you sees the room and the other has the manual, so neither person can sit back and let the other solve it. Keep Discord voice on, because most mistakes come from a colour or number being described badly.
- 05
Murder Mystery
22–28 minThis is the longer one to try when you both have about twenty-five minutes. You’re in different rooms of the same house, finding evidence the other person can’t see, then talking it through until the case fits. It works well on voice because you keep having to describe exactly what is in front of you.

The 36 Questions
45 minSave this for a long call where you actually want to talk. It’s built around the 36-question structure from Aron and colleagues’ 1997 study, with three sets that get more personal as they go. It takes about forty-five minutes and it’s not better if you rush it.
Making it work
Use Discord for voice, not the game
These games are browser rooms, not a Discord bot or activity. Stay in your voice channel, open the game in another tab, and send the room link or four-letter code in the chat.
Pick something that fits the call
If you’ve got five minutes, don’t start a twenty-five minute case. Most of the shorter games finish in one screenful of attention, while the escape room and murder mystery need both of you properly present.
Say what you see, not what you think it means
On a call, it’s easy to skip the boring detail and jump to a theory. Don’t. Colours, numbers, positions, exact wording — those are usually what the other person needs.
Don’t worry about mixed devices
One of you can be on a laptop and the other on a phone. There’s nothing to install, and if someone drops off, they can rejoin the same seat in the same game.
Questions
Are these discord games for two people only?
Yes. Rooms hold exactly two people — never three or more. One person starts a room, the other joins with the code or link.
Do these run inside Discord?
No. They run in a browser tab beside Discord. Use Discord for the voice call, then play the game in the browser.
Do we need accounts or downloads?
No. Neither player needs an account, and there’s nothing to install. One person makes the room and sends the code or link.
What are fun games to play on Discord call if we only have ten minutes?
Try Same Page, Doodle & Guess, Red Flag, Green Flag, Two Truths & a Lie, or How Well Do You Know Me. They’re short enough to play without turning the call into a whole event.
What happens if one of us disconnects?
They can rejoin the same room and get back into the same seat. Rooms clear after a day of quiet, so don’t expect an old code to last forever.
Ready?
Make a room, send the four-letter code to one other person. No account, nothing to install, works on a phone.
